My S2000 - '01 Silverstone - *Pictures*
Picked up my first S2K about a week ago. Just got around to detailing it and snapped a few pictures this afternoon. Let me know what you think. The car is close to bone stock, no plans to mod it much for the next 6 months, just enjoying the ride.

Anybody know if it's common for these cars to drop down to 5/600 rpms and then rise back up to 900-1000 idle when you pull it out of gear or rev it at a stop?

Personally I would of put it in either the introduction thread or the "clean S2K thread". Welcome to the family man... if you are any kind of car guy (looks like you are) you will thoroughly enjoy the S.
Learn it, respect it, build it, race it.

ok you asked for what i think (everyone prepare yourself to get those "i hate graf-fiti" feelings again)
1. stock amber corner lenses w/ clear sidemarkers = poop
2. blue billet oil cap and red anodized fpr = 1997
3. apc re-works strut bar = ebay ftw
4. unnecessary a/f gauge = colorful rainbow while driving
other than that it's cute...you need to condition your leather seats and probably the soft top
and is that condensation on your ps headlight in the parking garage pic?

Just the kind of feedback I like.
1. Totally agree. Haven't figured out the deal yet with the amber and clear sidemarkers... I've seen both on pretty stock looking cars. Which color was OEM in the US and where can I get some amber ones?
2. / 3. / 4. Agreed as well on all of these. These are the only aftermarket things on the car when I bought it and they will be being removed shortly, haha.
The condensation was there when I bought the car. Both headlights have since been pulled out and taken apart, cleaned, and re-sealed.
The seats were conditioned today but the pictures don't show it much. I'll probably re-do them more thoroughly.

This is why I love you.
Wlecome to the S2000 fam, newcommer. You car should bring you lots of joy as long as you don't break it.
I'd do a differential service first thing.

Id definetly paint the stock wheels black before doing any other mods.
That way when your on the street everyone will recognize that you are a tuner.

Yep, this is normal. The question comes up quite frequently over at the various s2000 websites. I'm also own an S2000 and experience the low-idle shudder often. I hear it has something to do with running a such a high compression ratio.
