My back one seems pretty worthless anymore and probably 1/4'' of pad left. 10k miles on the 02 f4i, front and back at the same time?

 

When should you change your brakes? Whenever you feel its necessary. If the back one is on its way out you might as well replace the front, the fronts get a lot more use so they may need replacing soon.

Its relatively inexpensive considering what could happen if your brakes went out while you were riding .

I'd go ahead and get some fresh fluid and some SS lines while youre at it. That is, if you have the means at the moment.

 

sorry for noob question, how about rotor? they are just replace item right?

Most rotors have a min. rotor width inscribed on them. If its smaller than that, replace them. Or if you see excessive/uneven wear. Better to be safe than sorry.

oh i see, just like car rotors but no resurface
