Default Custom 2.25 piping?

If I wanted to get some custom 2.25 piping would I be forced to get a new cat, or could the new diameter piping be connected to my stock cat? Also, how much should I expect to pay? I've heard some say less then $100 while others have said upwards to $200.

your cat should work. less than 100? i dont know, but i paid 115 for mine... but it was such a shitty job i took it back 3 times and each time they charged me a little more each time... $115+40+35=WTF. 150 is about right for a quick and dirty custom exhaust job. it all depends on which shop you go

There's a lot of muffler shops in my area, around here you can expect to pay about 100 bucks for crush bent piping. If you're talking over 200 bucks, then you're probably talking about mandrel bent piping which always costs more. The muffler shop will be able to use your stock cat, they'll just put on a new flange to match everything up.
