Default HOOKING UP A RACING TACH

Im going to install a racing tach. The question I have for everyone is which color wire in the gauge harness is the tach wire.

I have a 91 hatch si..

any help with this would be greatly appriciated, will make the hook up of the tach a lot faster..

ok most people think it is stupid to have one in the car cause its "ricer". I do think this but if you wanna go and put one in your car go for it man. Do what you want. Mine had one in it when i bought it.

the guy had it hooked up from the distributor and then others. If you need help pm me.

i ran the solid blue wire to the Dizzy, black ground, red/white accessories on the fuse box..someone also said they connected the blue wire to one of the plugs on the back side of the cluster..

nothing wrong with a 5' tach. but instead i didnt use a shiftlight, i connected to run my VTEC (my VTEC controller) then i have aside a shiftlight with pills..(or peels)

Haha to clarify, im not tough on the net.. I think it's stupid to post and not help out.. When I have info, I help.....

The car already had a 5" racing tach, so I have the holes on my pillar and I been hitting redline alot, so I decided to get one with the shift light built in.

I also like the units that are just the shift light with the rpm pills..

Thanks everyone for the positive help....

E-thugn FTL....
and yes it was a joke
just get a sedan cluster, or an Si cluster, plugs right in....Pending on what chassi you have Dx/Std you may have to change out the dash harness, which takes all of 10 minuets

You shouldnt have to change out any dash harness to use a factory tach.. I had a 91 std. hatch with a si cluster in it and it was plug and play

For those of you who had to change your harness to install a STOCK cluster in the proper fashion (88-89, 90-91 are 2 different "styles"), you're doing it wrong.
