LOOKING FOR HELP
i have an 04 accord 2dr 4cyl manual that i want to lower on coilovers. can anyone give me any suggestion on what brand to buy cause im on a student budget? im gonna use my car primarily as a DD. im leaning towards purchasing tein basics but im not sure yet. i want to leave an inch fender gap on all fours. also, can anyone give me any suggestion on what camber kit i should buy? i know cheap and reliable dont go together, but i want to buy something thats gonna cost me the least and last for a long time. any help would be greatly appreciated. much love for G7 accords! heres a pic of my ride: http://i73.photobucket.com/alb...2.jpg
That's a really nice looking gen 7... are you sure you want to spend like that on it? it looks really good the way it is. after you start lowering it and fixing you will begin to draw attention to yourself, lawful and otherwise.
While I am not intimately familiar with your chassis, I know the basics of Honda and its aftermarket community, I would imagine that if your budget fits tein, you will be okay. Another maker you may look at for entry level goods is "Tokico" or koni... Tokico makes a blue and a white(white being somewhat adjustable) unit that will fit your car, Koni makes a yellow unit that may fit. Use those in conjunction with some SOFT after market springs at you are set for the short term.
If you are really on a tight budget but are estined to make this change, try looking in the for sale section for used parts.
As far as actual part numbers contact any of our vendors int eh vendor section of the web site and they will be More than happy to help you find something that fits your budget

thanks MSchu. im really looking to drop my car and leave only 1 inch fender gaps on all fours. i know for sure that im going to have to install camber kits to fix the camber wear. my car is still riding stock. any suggestions on the camber kits? i think im gonna go with tein basics cause i looked tokico and koni online, and they are gonna end up almost the same price as the teins.
for a one inch fender gap i do not think you will need a camber kit... if you do, try looking up SPC
You may be able to find a vendor here on HT that will give you a deal
http://www.spcperformance.com/...H.cfm
but again... for a drop that is less than 2" you more than likely wont need a camber kit

when i measured my fender gap (from the middle of the tire tread to the fender), it came out as 3.5". so im contemplating that maybe i should drop my car 2.5" to get the desired 1" fender gap. from past experiences, a 2.5" drop MIGHT not need camber kits, but there will still be considerable camber wear on the tires. ive done drops on my DA9 integra before and it looks nice with a little negative camber here and there, but ultimately that cost me money in the long run due to the said camber wear on the tires. thanks again MSchu.
two thumbs up for G7 accords!
