i've searched but have not found an answer..
when the car is runnin with the a/c off, car idles fine at about 750 (normal). when you turn the a/c on it drops very low to point where if you turn the steering wheel in gear, it will die. btw, bone stock 94 accord ex.
i've tried to adjust the screw on the TB but it didnt do enough.
what makes the idle raise up when the air is turned on? is there a seperate relay or mechanism that could be checked?
TIA

Check your IAC , probobaly got a clogged screen...has 2 coolant lines 1 in and 1 out.....2 12's hold it to the IM......remove the bolts and pull the valve away slightly and take a small screwdriver and lightly pick away the carbon deposits, don't break the screen .....hit it with some TB cleaner and put back together...Screw your Idle adjust screw all the way in and back it off two and 1/2 turns(good sarting point) adjust idle as needed
There is an AC Request pin on the ecu that will activate when the A/C button is pressed, upping the idle speed. The power steering is the same way, only it is triggered by you turning the wheel.
Is your A/C overcharged, or have you added any refrigerant to it. Check this link out, it will help with the idle. First turn the inner part of the compressor by hand with the engine off. If you feel rough spots when turning it, your compressor is failing internally. Turn it slow.

Sometimes the IAC clogs up if you have an oil consumption problem, Check your PCV valve. Clean it out and follow the link above to get your idle speed right.
