start with a DPFI to MPFI swap. http://fourthgenhatch.net/mpfi.html
then you can do your bolt-ons. Intake, header, exhaust, maybe a tune.
If your looking for a gain of 30-40 whp, I would swap in a DOHC ZC. It's still relatively inexpensive, and not that difficult of a swap to do yourself. Then add your bolt-ons and that's 30-40 HP right there.
Also, you could go on a diet. Your car that is (or yourself
). Use the search feature to find more about weight reduction.
DOHC ZC how-to's are listed in the FAQ, which you should also spend alot of time reading.
I wouldn't recommend slapping a turbo on a stock d15b2. It's been done before, but that's how engine's blow. If you really want to go turbo, do it right. Build your internals, source the right parts, and make sure you do a good install. For more turbo information, check out the forced induction forum.
Good luck.

Yeah that's true... Thank you, and this to let you know I do like that engine the ZC... This because it goes with the car.... That's really it LoL.
Yeah i have an 88 hf and i decided to go with the jdm d15b swap just bc it would drop right in without much difficulty at all. these are strong motors for a light weight car. You just have to convert to multi-point. I think you can just put an si head on ur stock motor you have but im not sure since the dx isnt multi-point.
Yeah.... But IDK if I can't make anymore HP out of this i'm this leaving it the way it is... Because like what some people know if you start playing around with the engine something can maybe get F%#@ed sooner or later...... I found that out form my lasted CRX what was an 1989 Honda CRX Si......
yeah you could just stick to bolt ons and a good exhaust system. idk much about the stock motors you you may be able to get an aftermarket cam and cam gear.
