2 tiny problems which could end me up with a large bill
i have a 94 accord ex (f22b1) and When ever i take my car out of the park or neutral, it literally takes about 4 seconds for the transmission to kick in, like when i out it in drive, the car starts to move just a little bit, then 2 or 3 seconds later the car just wants to hop and go, and i noticed if i accelerate RIGHT before the car "Hops and just wants to go", im only reving the engine and it doesnt have any effect on my movement.... so i was wondering if this really is the transmision or can it be something else?
problem#2 well i was changing my spark plug wires and i bumped a bolt on top of the engine with my hand and came to find out that the bolt is completely loose..... i tried to tighten it but it wasnt doing anything and i took it out and theres no threads on it and theres a tiny not, or a ball at the tip of it.... and now i notice that there is oil leaking around that bolt that i had noticed before but ignored.... what is this I'm looking at guys? here are some pics.. PLZ help, idk if i sould even be driving with that bolt thing out and loose like that

Check your tranny fluid! If thats not it, it does sound like its slipping. As for the bolt or whatnot, it looks like the spot where the PVC? valve goes, I could be wrong.
I have a f22a1, I will check it today, they should be similar, I will let you know what it is for sure, unless someone helps you out before that!

LOL dude, problem 1 is huge, problem2 is not even a problem!!!
if the F22 is anything liek my F23A1, that valve cover bolt is just a PITA to line up is all, the trick is the put out out all the way, set the washer on the valve cover and pull up the bolt all the way, then set it down as straight as possible, if it goes all the way down, try again lol!
oh hell i'll make a damn video

and i checked my tranny fluid but its topped off...
i even bought a funnel and tranny fluid from the auto zone -__- is it hard to drain the tranny fluid? and no, i was worried because a bolt doesnt just come off by its self.... is there a reason for this or does it just happen? and it doesnt relate to power loose or anything does it?

You are right, bolts aren't supposed to come off by themselves. I'm pretty sure that's your cylinder head cover bolt, there's 5 of them I think, the pcv valve is on the opposite side of the spark plugs. There are rubber seals where those bolts go to prevent oil from leaking from your cylinder head. The bolt is only supposed to be tightened to like 7 ft-lbs, so if someone overtightened it, it might be broken off in the cylinder head or stripped (sounds like it's stripped from what you said). If that happened you will have to get any pieces of the bolt out of the cylinder head, too.
You might as well replace the cylinder head cover gasket, the rubber seals for the cylinder head bolts, and spark plug oil seals, while you are doing this.
I don't know about your other problem.

wow 361 accord back up acct. thanks so much for helping me with that, im gonna go do that right now... and i SO hope that its not stripped... if it is, then how much am i looking at? and i thought the oil filter does the cleaning for that stuff or no?
if i do replace it is it difficult to do? i tried watching expert village videos for replacing the valve covers and its just removing spark plugs and 5 bolts but from previous experence, my honda always has other things the videos never ever mention, (example : all the resonators and suction things and other stuff attached to my intake piping._

You need to check that there isn't anything in the bolt hole in the cylinder head. Like if the bolt was broken or pieces of it were stripped off in the hole then you wouldn't be able to put a new bolt in. So check that out. Taking the valve cover off is easy. If you have any doubts about it, find a manual and read through that before you do it. You need to get the right torque specs, and you need to put some sealant on the valve cover gasket on any corners, but the manual goes over that.
thank u so much for the info rhdins, and also upon closer examination, i came to find out that there is another bolt that is also stripped, which means that the idiot who worked on it last time used full hand force to tighten these babies. so now i need to know how to get that remaining of the bolt out of the whole... i know this is gonna be a pain in the rear but can someone plz tell me how i would do this, and i DO NOT wanna use a drill bit because of the importance of them and also the cost... BUT atleast i know they are lubricated well :DD

yeah sorry about the retardedly long *** name
my primary account got frozen for a while
at this point i would probably gho ahread and take off the valve cover, it is too easy to do, and then see iff you can get a better look at the bolt holes that are built intothe head, you may end up having to re-thread the hole, maybe with a larger size, and have to find a bolt the correct length aqnd thread pitch et.c to re-use on that washer
unless you could use the valve cover bolts from another honda engine that is fatter?

ok thuis was actually someone elses accord

those there circled things arewhat those goofy looking bolts go into
i would suggest you take off the valve coverand have a look
it is remarkably easy realy, just 5 little bolts , or in your case three
then you can pry it up with a screwdriver here BECAUSE there is not any gasket there to screw up by lifting from there

then just kinda lift it up
that goof lookin hose int e top midle just puills right off *yoink* same with the other hose
then just make sure that those goofy lookin bolts thread intot he holse or if they are just totally stripped out and it spins freely, that is not a huge problem
if all it is is like that the damn bolt will not thread in, then you can try to "chase the threads" meaning you get a same-size thread tap
to straighten out the threads, make sure it goes into a pre-existing good hole first easily since you want to have the same thread pitch
however
if the hole got bigger , well you have to use a slightly bigger thread tap and try yo hunt down a slightly bigger bolt!
since it uses those goofy *** bolts witht he built in washer, you can either go tothe dealership and make them find you an identical one with a fatter thread which is unlikely, OR go to home depot lol

hey.. my tranny is doing the same thing.. takes a few seconds to engage.. and if the car has been sitting for more than 4 hours, it take about 15-20 minutes for the overdrive to kick in.. it will be at 40mph, and at 2k.. once the overdrive kicks in, it drops to about 1.5/6k at 40 mph.. sorry to steal, but my car has 116k miles, do you guys recommend I change the fluid in the tranny a few times, then see if it solves it? cause on my old car, 1998 lexus es300, everyone said if it hasnt been done every 40k miles or something, DONT CHANGE IT OR IT WILL MESS UP EVEN MORE... so basically, should i try changing the fluid several times with HONDA ATF?
ty ty ty for the replies, and thanks for the wonderfull offer by the kind man up in GV, MiNnesnowta (what ever city that is, LOL never heard of it, ) but yeah i need to go to auto zone and buy a torque wrench cuz i dont wanna be the idiot that over tightens the valve cover bolts -__- but ill get back to u guys, and erk 89, where r u guys located? because this is the first time im doing something this big (yet so simple) and if i get stuck, well, then i literally AM stuck, and cant get to ur shop... so maybe i can do it by your shop and if something goes wrong then maybe u can help a brother out a little bit?
and its ok about the tranny question, as long as they are about the same thing im having u can ask w/e u want cuz thats just more info for me
