Default New Si question

I just bought a si sedan, and everyone keeps telling me to change the oil after the first 100 miles, but the dealership told me to go in and change it after 5000 miles. I do have the 7 year warrenty on it, should i go up to the dealership and tell them to change the oil?

^yup. There are almost 20 threads discussing break in oil, break in protocol, etc. I recently hit 1k on the odometer and wanted to get my oil changed @ the dealer b/c my first oil change is free. But they will not change it until my oil life is 15% or less. I wanted to just go ahead and change it cuz this dealership is not very close to my house.

If you use the rev limiter a lot, then keep checking the oil level @ 500 miles and 1000 miles, etc. because it may need a little topping off before 5000 miles.

Just had my Si topped off at the dealer. My car was 1 qt low at 2000 miles. Dealership told me that was normal and not to worry!
