Default Recently painted engine bay, want to change the color....

Well I painted my engine bay about a yr ago... had plans on keeping the original color of the car so i painted the bay back red and cleared it, with ppg products, actually with the the custom show clear. well now i have the whole car painted black, jambs, inside the trunk and the only thing that isn't painted is the engine bay... but its completely tore apart now, anyone have any suggestions on how removing the paint thats already applied. Lol this is funny for me even asking b/c i'm ppg certified but i just don't want that many layers of paint in the bay b/c the clear i sprayed its really high build and the paint thickness is way to thick to have recoat b/c im afraid of flaking later on down the road. So would powder blasting my only option? and i'm not doing a chemical strip on the paint... anyone got any tips or tricks... i guess im looking for an easy way out, if it was factory paint ( no clear ) would be easy to have ready. so any ideas or tips?
