there must be because i have a set in my car that are hard leather and not very soft to sit in. no cushion. i also have a set in my garage that are completely different. those are soft leather and have alot more cushion. what gives. will try to post pics soon. they are also stitched a little different.

I know the leathers in my old 00 GSR was pretty hard. Perhaps the sedan and hatch leather seats are slightly different as far as *** cushioning.

 

94-97 have a different style stitching than the 98-01. That may be the cause of the one seat feeling softer than the other. The actual condition, and wear on the seat may also have an effect on how soft the leather feels, and how much cushioning is actually left. Take pictures of both seats, and i can tell you for sure what the deal is.

 

my 2000 gsr had better leather seats than my 96, the 2000 had more adjustability and better cushioning

 

my boy had a set of 95 oem black leather seat on his teg and i sold him a set of 2000 black leather seats and they were way more comfortable then the 95, the 95 are more stiff, and the 2000 has a slight bigger headrest then the 95, also the stitching is alil different i noticed

 

To the OP could you post pics... I'd really like to see the difference in the seats.

weird the 96+ teggys should have the better seats and cushion are bigger. while the 94-95 have less cushion and smaller than the 00 leathers. but i have the 94 leathers and it seats pretty good! but i want some type R seats! i wants some cloth instead of hottt **** leathers!

 

My 94 GS-R cloth seats look the exact same shape as those 99 leathers. Glad I got cloth, though.

 

My 96 gsr leathers seem wider than 00 leathers.

 

yeah it depends which car you got it from...

 

Yeah 94-97 are a little "rougher" if you will.. where as the 98-01 Leathers are really smooth and clean looking, I prefer the new leathers...
