Default CRX gsr cluster swap... MOUNTING SOLUTION???

not sure if this should go here or A/C but i figured i would start here.. Now before you even ask NO i dont need help wiring it in that part is finished.. My question is about mounting the cluster.. In all thw write up's and tech info i have found about the cluster noone really says how to mount it SECURELY!! i dont want it to look like some hack job but i dont want it rattleing and squeking either..

Pics would be great of how you did your mounting or open to idea's.. really dont want to screw through the gauge hood but if its the only way then so be it..

thanks in advance for any and all help

hey man i did this a while ago but dont screw it, this will look like ****...
just epoxy the tab into the hood on the top then make some plastic brackets and epoxy them to the bottom of the cluster and the hood and it wont move at all and looks 10 times better

nice install.. unfortunately i cut both mounting tabs off my cluster but may be able to use your method still.. also what pinout did you use to hook your cluster up and what did you do with the black/yellow or black/white wire on b11 on the gsr cluster?

i'm not sure what the black/white wire would be for but i'm pretty sure you don't need it. Everything works on my integra cluster as it should, and i didn't use that wire at any point. It may be for one of the dummy lights that is not necessary in an EF. (i.e. maintance required, low fuel, abs, or cruise control). The black/yellow wire goes to the black/yellow wire in your crx. its an ACC power wire thats only on when the cars in run.

pin b11 is the one i do not have hooked up.. i have seen some say its for a vss.. but every write up i found has different pin locations.. i finally just traced out the back of the cluster to find what everything on my particular cluster does regardless of wire color... not having issues with the wiring i am just having some problems doing a clean secure mounting..

same here...i cut the tabs off and i used zip ties to the original cluster mounting spots....if you really need a pic i can take mine apart real quick but its not all that difficult just a handfull of zip ties and patience to get it to sit right and look "OEM"

I have a 94 gsr cluster in my 91 crx. I didnt trim any tabs or anything to put it in there. Mine sits in there just fine without any screws or anything. It's just wedged in there. If you wanted you could put a screw through the underside of the hood to go through the hole in that big flap on top of the cluster.

heres mine. although its just a standard ls cluster, not a gsr. Also i'm using a stock hatch cluster cover instead of a crx cover. and yea i ganked the cluster out of an automatic . but i mean it was free since it was the same place i retrieved the engine from as well lol

u know if u pull the cluster apart u can take them thing in the middle of your cluster out.just take out the bulbs for the automatic **** so it wont light up.other then that it almost looks the same.all your lights work inside the cluster?ie oillight cel brake light.
