F22B Swap help
we just swapped a OBD1 JDM F22B, in my 96 accord and we can't get no spark. we think its gotta be something with tha dizzy, we are using the JDM dizzy which is obd1, but the wiring harness we are using is from the f22b2 which is obd2. also the JDM motor is a internal coil and the accord came with external coil. any ideas? should i just get a obd2 dizzy? thanks
You can use the internal coil dizzy, but on the wiring harness that went to the external coil on the old engine you have to jumper two of the wires, I'm not sure which ones, green and blue/yellow maybe, check around I know there is a thread about it somewhere.
Also, make sure you have the ground on the end of the intake manifold connected, if it's not the engine will crank, but you won't get any spark.

where is this ground exactly located? i had someone wire up all tha dizzy wiring and i tried to use a h23 dizzy but still could not get spark. mayb its tha ground like u stated?
aight some updated things. we are now getting spark, it was that ground by tha intake manifold like u said. but we still cant get the damn thing to start. is there supposed to be another ground by the thermostat housing?
I think that's it, the brown wire. I got this pic from another post about this same thing a while ago, cause I was having a hard time getting mine to start after a swap.
i had a F22B swaped into my prelude and it has a DOHC on it. is that normal? emial blue21rx_8@yahoo.com

I've got a 5th gen, a 94 LX. I had the JDM F22B sohc swapped in, which is the same as the F22B2. There is also a dohc F22B, the sohc and dohc jdm engines were both just stamped F22B, so yeah that's normal (to 21).
It's my daily driver now, but I'm planning on some mods here in the near future when I get some money saved up to do it. I kindof wish I would have got the dohc motor now, it sounds like it's supposed to be pretty nice.

I looked on mine today, I didn't see a ground on the t-stat housing either. Just the temp sensor (I think that's what it is atleast)
If you said you're getting spark, then I would focus on checking your fuel delivery. When you turn the key to on do you hear the fuel pump going? That's probably the first thing to check, then just go from there. Go through the whole fuel system starting at the tank then check everything up to the injectors and check to make sure everything is working.
