Default Possible to run a vtec head without vtec?

Just as the title says, i was wondering if i could run a vtec sohc head on my D16A6 without wiring vtec without any problems? (Just directly bolting on head and driving the car) I've got a Y8 and Z6 head from a buddy, bored of my D16A6 Valve Cover rather it say Vtec. I won't be running this set-up for long i plan on wiring it for experience sooner or later.

Yep itll run fine as long as you dont try to rev past the vtec cross over. Im running a vtec engine in my CRX, but i didnt wire up the vtec (waiting to do an OBD1 conversion), runs fine, no problems. I dont rev like a moron all day long though.

While you can as stated, don't half *** it, lord knows what kinda monkey wrenches life will throw at you and delay you finishing this.

Don't do it until you are ready for the mini me conversion done right if you ask me.
