i have an older 750 honda motor that my grandfather left me when he pasted away. i have some random parts and a frame but i have now clue what model or year it is. what i do know is ,is that its not a street bike motor it looks like a crusier and its never been ran it was an unfinished project . how should i go about getting info on this? where would the vin be? and once i get the vin# what next? thanks guys

 

Well, if it has a rounded over valve cover then its a SOHC (1969-1978) engine. If it has two peaks on the valve cover its a DOHC (1979+).

 

There should be a number stamped on the rear of the engine case, facing up, behind the starter cover.

The VIN will be on the headstock, on the right hand side.

Sure its 7000021 and not 2000021?

What is the VIN? (It will be different from the engine #)
