i have a 95 lude with a jdm h22 in it. and when on the track the last couple of times that i have raced it. when i get up to btwn 6-7 and 7 grand it will back fire when i shift. does ant 1 know y. i've had my lude 4 about 3 months. i used to own a sohc cam civic and a B18a1 teg. so this is my 1st dohc vtec engine. i was just wondering if there was some thing that i was doing that i didnt know to becausing this. i tried to look this up with the search but couldnt find anything. if this question has become redundant i apologize in advance. but any help would greatly be appreciated.

Good luck with your engine... Worst case scenario, that engine is not too expensive.

 

lets not jump the gun here on him needing a whole new engine. My last H22a did that, but with an adjustment to the ignition timing corrected it.

He could also have crap plugs and wires.
