Thinking of Turbocharging my run around 1300 cc CVT Fit.....
Hey Guys,
I am in the process of building up my Civic Sir for turbo and am nearly done. In the process I bought a JDM 2004 Fit, CVT tranny, I believe the engine is the L13, as my daily driven car. I love it by the way. However as the car enthusiast that I am, I have started modding my Fit slightly, some 15" rims, a catback exhaust, spoiler, etc. Then one day, of course, a small turbo low boost setting popped into my head....darn it! I know that doing a engine swap IS the best thing to do, but frankly I don't want to go through that again. I have asked some local tuners about my idea and they say it can be done, and if I stay at 8 PSI of boost my tranny should be fine. I was thinking of using a Toyota Starlet turbo, or, I was recommended a L200 diesel turbo.
What do you say? Is this the dumbest idea you have ever heard, or good project? Thanks.

Really!
...hmm, well that sucks. Is, the CVT really that week? it's not like I'm going to be racing the car or anything....still no go?
Thank you for your reply.

Read on FitFreaks.net that the CVT is good for 140HP (so it was said), and that using a tranny cooler an regular maintenance will save guard the CVT tranny. Some users on the site have boosted the CVT equip car ,up to 11psi 200HP!!! I think that's too much though...comments?

since this is a US based forum, with mostly US based enthusiasts, we're not going to have alot of information for you. the 1.3 and CVT transmission are both not available here, so any information you receive is going to be almost all speculation. you should probably talk seriously with someone who has done it already with your exact car. people on this site WILL give you advice, but most of them will have ZERO experience to back it up. good luck!
