The first bike I ever rode on the back of was an 1998. That's my only experience with them.

As with all Suzukis, make sure it hasn't been stunted or abused. Those bikes draw an impressive amount of squids.

i own a 99 srad 600. its my first bike and i have had it for about 6 months now. and i can tell you i love it!! handleing is great. from what ive heard if you lower the bike it will throw that off. but im sure thats on any bike. but for the most part its a fun drive. maintenence is super easy. but like the dude said earlier...make sure it wasnt stunted or abused...that will definetly come back to you. they did have an overheating problem...mine isnt that bad but you should look out for that...one problem i just started getting was when i drop it into first with the kick stand up it will stall...but i think it could be my wireing .....but like i said for the most part i love this bike!!! i cant think of anything else...shoot some questions if you have any...heres a few pics of my srad 600...what color scheme are you trying to get...and what kinda deal are you getting??

and one with the fam!!

also, too....invest in some leather...youll feel much safer

I had a 96 750. It was a pretty good bike. Make sure you get those carbs checked out though.

I currently have a 2000 GSXR 600 - the last carb'ed gsxr. First off this is a bulkier heavier bike compared to the majority of 600's out there ...Dry weight of roughly 390 so roughly over 400 lbs
These bikes handle well but not stellar by any means esp when pushed to the limits....(no inverted forks, no steering damper) The power is sweet for an 8 year old bike at 106hp its no slouch. I dont know how much experience you have with bikes but the power delivery is wayyy different then a fuel injected bike. Yours wont come alive till over 10k rpms. Maintenance wise it is relatively simple to maintain however one you get into the larger maintenance intervals - carbs are no fun to clean/sync. Tons of pieces but nonetheless these arent that frequent. A great bike though.
