'02 Accord SE dimming headlights and dashboard
My car headlights are dimming to the point where it looks like they might not even be on at night some times. I've went to a honda dealership and one of the people there told me that it can be dirt or so on the plastic of my headlights. Even if that's the case, that doesn't explain my dashboard from going dim. Could it be my battery dying on me or something else? The lady there said to get some type of cleanser to try to clean the headlights..any ideas?? I may not be that much car savvy, but her answer was kinda suspect to me. Any help will be appreciated.
thanks
thanks

if headlights--> rub Mothers mag/aluminum polish from walmart let sit for 5 mins wiope off with clean rag, do this acouple times and headlight will look almost new
if dashlights-->> theres a brightness control **** to the left of the speedometer/ milage ocd, turn that **** to the right to increase brightness of dash lights.

sounds like your alternator if it happens when u r driving. If it happens when the car is off then either your battery is bad, or your alternator is not charging the battery to begin with. You could get your battery to a mechanic or any auto shop and they can try charging it themselves, if it holds a charge, then its you alternator/belt. if not then its the battery.
If u have obnoxious subs in your trunk than that would explain everything, they take a bit more than stock setup.

It could be a couple things.
Headlights:
1) Could be your alternator is going bad. Simply not getting enough power for all your fancy smanshy electronics
This could especially be the case if you have a big *** stereo hooked up.
2) You could just simply need new headlights if you haven't got that idea out there yet.
3) The headlights could truly just be dirty
Dash:
4)I would check the bulb(s) in the dash itself
5) Or, again, check the alternator

I'm a definitely look into checking if its my headlights that just need to be cleaned. I just hope its not my battery or my alternator. Thanks again to everybody
