A friend of mine has a 02 R6 and his muffler is scratched up but mid pipe is fine. There is a muffler for a 03 r6 on ebay. I told him he could probably use his mid pipe and hanger and just put the other muffler on.Therefor the position will not change. I am pretty sure the diameter is the same. I was wondering have anyone ever tried this. BTW It a loud *** D&D and he wants another one that looks better. I dont know why. Thanks

 

all pipes look about the same to me. without any real technical knowledge, id say itll work.

 

wont bolt right up without modifications. stock 03 header has a bigger inlet than 02, so it will be too big. and it will be too long; 03 has a shorter header and longer midpipe
