How strict are they on teching the cars and at what point do you need to have a cage? Thanks guys, gonna try to make this one if I can get the safety goods lined out.

The actual people from NTR are pretty strict about safety rules but that is on Test n tune nights. Last year when I ran all motor at IFO they made me go all the way back to where we were parked to get my helmet before they would even put a number on my car.

Are you guys doing the D series shootout there this year like last year. I know there are quite a few guys going from a dseries sites that would like to run that again this year.

No D series class this year, want the SFWD class to be full instead. Last year both the SFWD and D series class were a little short of being full. D series guys shouldn't be hesitant in entering the SFWD class. It pays top four. If would like, we can gather $30 from each D series racer and the one who makes it furthest in SFWD eliminations wins the pot. ...just an idea, if want, speak up!

We are thinking of making the trip from MD! Who is going in the all motor class? Does it normally have full field?

It is only a 4 car field, you should have no problems taking home the win!!!

last year the all motor class was full but not a bunch of really fast all motor guys around here. There is one being built around columbus area but I'm pretty sure it's far from being finished so it won't be there.
Yes, it's only a top four. If 8 or more enter though, we make it a top 8 and bump up the payouts a little.
After reading the NHRA rule book there is a lot to do if they strictly enforce this stuff. My main thing is I have a side exit exhaust and according to their rule book it has to exit from the rear, how strict are they on this and has anyone successfully ran a side exit at that track?
Read the IFO rules on their website. for SFWD open downpipe is okay to run that's what I run so side exit shouldn't be a problem. I really don't think on this event the track can make the decision on an exhaust it would be IFO event staff. I'll let them chime on this for sure but if I was in your situation it wouldn't stop me from going.
Well truth be known currently the car has a turndown on it right after it passes the oil pan but I was in the process of possibly doing a side exit but if it will fly with what I have right now thats whats staying on there. I appreciate the info guys, I just don't want to drive 6 hours and not be able to run.
I have a full exhaut with a cutout on mine right past the pan and I uncap it before I go to the track. IFO SFWD rules state that open exhaust is ok. what's the engine setup on your car looks good from the avatar
Its a sleeved 83mm LS/Vtec, T3/61 yoparts special
, FAST standalone, etc. I am trying to get the cage in and make this race. I am just excited to get this new setup to the 1/4. We tested it here in the 8th mile about 2 weeks ago on a awful prepped track and managed a 7.63 at 99mph with a high 1.89 60ft on just 17psi. Since then we put the car on the scales and adjusted some weight up on the front tires. We got the front tires within 1 pound of each other with me in the car. It should get out a lot better now and we are wanting to get it in the high 20's boost wise. I can't wait to see what it does if I can make it.
