what kills struts? big drop or stiff spring rates?

Default what kills struts? big drop or stiff spring rates?

looking for coilovers for my daily driver da teg. i want a stiff spring for handling, but wont lower the car more than half inch or so. just wondering whatwould be the demise of my struts, the drop or the stiffer springs

lowering 1/2 an inch with standard lowering springs will be just fine.

Over/under dampened shocks and struts are what fail prematurely. That, plus being too low with no travel, and normal life expectancy.
