Question for ITR Koni User
I think it's to do with whether you can access the strut tops -- you can access them if you don't have rear interior trim (or if you have an EG6 Civic which has access to the rear strut tops even with stock interior
)
)
The rear (U.S.) Konis for the ITR (also CRX) are adjustable externally, as mentioned above.
You turn the shaft for firmer, softer...but not from the top like the fronts.
Also, the rears have only one perch, the fronts have 2.
BTW, Tirerack has very good prices on these, but be careful.
They sent me Koni reds (specials) TWICE for the rear.
I had to call up and get a guy on the phone at tirerack to go get the shock and open the box and make sure it was the right one.
I suppose it didnt really matter, they are practically the same other than color.
I used stock springs with mine and I like it alot.
I made the mistake of trying the lower perch in the front, and hated it, its just too low.

Its just a groove, in which sits a clip, and around the clip goes a metal band, and the collar sits on that...
It should be immediately obvious...if not we arent talking about the same part.
The rears HEIGHT is not adjustable (which seems odd to me, i mean why bother selling it as the sport version with adjustable height when it doesnt have adjustable height, but in all fairness they didnt have to make one for our cars anyway)
The STIFFNESS of the rear shock IS adjustable, but it must be done before putting it on.
Again this seems silly to me, why not make it like the fronts where u can just turn the **** and adjust.
I hope I answered your question, but i'm still not sure what you are asking about really...

My rear KONIs are externally adjustable just like the fronts. It seems that you can't buy these in the US.....
the koni shocks that you can get through neuspeed have 5 different height
perches..front and back
that's what i just got on my gsr...
the lady (from neuspeed) who called me to confirm my order said it would take a months wait and that they were coming from Holland.
even though i paid a lil more..i'm glad i shed out the extra money..
more fine tuning w/ height
perches..front and back

Maybe the USDM ITR rear suspension is different. I think so, because the CRX rear strut won't fit in the Euro ITR.....
And Yep, they are made in Holland!!!

I dont think the USDM suspension is different, just that Koni has different offerings.
I talked to a guy at Koni USA and he told me that the one I got was the correct part (in the US).
It is also the same one for the CRX.
There were rumors of Koni making a newer style (2 perches?, adjustable stiffness, like the front) but he wouldnt comment either way, or he didnt know.
I'll try and take a pic of it later, I havent put the rears on yet.
Then DutchITR1689 can tell me if its basically the same he has...
I knew the Neuspeed was selling Konis, but I had no idea they were so different!
Comptech also sells Konis that seem to be different...

Yes, mine has two perches and it's adjustable like the front.
It's this one I think: 8041-1164Sport
Ask KONI USA about this.
