Smog test

I've owned my car for 2 years and 11 months and I'm just wondering why I haven't been asked to go get a smog test yet. Is there a new rule with newer cars or something?

new cars don't require smog for 5 years.

yea cars purchased in the last few years in CA don't require a smog test until after 5 years... good times...!
