02 RSX-S Exhaust Leak Question
I've got an 02 RSX-S. I've got a slight exhaust leak, but cannot tell where it is coming from. If you put a rag over the muffler, you cant hear a leak at all. But when you are driving, it sounds like a leak around the exhaust manifold. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
I've checked out the spring bolts, and they are tight, so is every other bolt on the exhaust. I've also had it on a lift and put it in first and went from first to second and to third, but cant hear anything if it is in the air. But when it is on the ground and you are driving it, you can definitely hear an exhaust leak. I've had a few mechanics take a look at it and they're stumped as well. Thanks.

I had the same problem. Under acceleration, the springs allowed a gap where the donut should be sealing. I think we replaced the springs in addition to the donut.
ok, i got on acuraautomotiveparts.org to order the parts. i'm gonna order the spring bolts and the doughnut gasket. it looks like 17 is the doughnut gasket, but i'm not 100% sure

lol, yea they do. it's been doing it since i bought the car, and i've been trying to figure out where it was coming from so i wouldn't waste my money on parts that wouldn't fix it
