2001-2005 Mdx Tail light question. Are the 05 Lights interchangable with the 01?

I have an 01, I like the 05 lights a lot better!

The shape is different, but the mounting is the same.

Yes, but you'll need to buy light sockets so they can fit into the newer taillights.
