How to avoid brake shudder?
i have a 96 accord lx with 17" Konig rims and stock brakes. I dont have the cash for the brembo big kit. I need to know if there was any way to make my rotors not pulse as much. The caliper bridge is not sticking and the brakes are new any suggestions?
I have already done that and the new rotors worked good for about 3 weeks and then started to warp again. could it be the size of the tires and should i get slotted rotors? thanks for the infothough
The problem is probably NOT warped rotors, but rather, uneven deposits of brake pad material on the surface of the rotors. You can avoid this problem by "bedding" your pads any time you replace your rotors or change to new pads of a different type from the old pads. If it is already occurring, you can sometimes correct it by bedding the pads. The purpose of bedding pads is to leave a uniform layer of pad material on the rotor surface. You do it through a series of progressively more severe stops, getting the pads hotter and hotter, and then parking the car for half a day or overnight, so the brakes can cool down completely. Do this on a road with no traffic, and don't touch the brakes on the way home after you go through the procedure (or you could wear off that layer you've just left).
