Standard oil changes can be improved on. There are always better ways to do things.

true, but other things on a Type R need work sooner than the oil change....
besides, i wonder how that valve works at 9000rpms?

ask yourself this: is the standard way to change oil really that difficult?
actually it really cant get much easier than the standard way but people find ways...
I have been using it on my b18c5 for about 6000 miles and 4 oild changes and I think it works great!, the oil comes out as soon as you screw the drain bolt on (which presses a spring type valve and opens it) No leaks what so ever , they also give you cover which srews on which is a dust cover /fail safe. I like it a lot.

it's hott...haha
just change the oil in the morning before the car is hot.
I actually think this fram suredrain is pretty badass...
yeah its cute....but like someone said, what about the oil from the filter? or does fram have a solution for that....

have you guys changed the oil filter on a chevy s10? it has a little run-off pipe under the filter that leads the oil from it towards the back of the engine and away from your hands

Yeah, but it doesn't really count unless you're dumping used oil all over some expensive, important underhood part. Ford Tore-Asses are my favorite - you can't help but dump most of the oil in the filter right on the starter
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

that's retarded...what if you happen to hit a tall speedbump?( happened to me yesterday, totally unexpected) then the oil would be SUREtoDRAIN. looks like a problem waiting to happen. although, i would put one on my truck....
no you dont have to bring the engine up to operating temp...you should never do work to an engine thats hot....as metal expands, and you popping of bolts ..stuff can shrink, and warp....the SUREDRain is just
...its not that hard to change oil...so you can get a little dirty.....if it bothers you that bad...then take it to jiffy lube....

Looks like some of you are A) Jealous you didnt think of it, B) pissed that someone wants to save money but isnt willing to get dirty to do it.
And you should, but dont have to change the filter everytime. I have heard every 2 changes but I put a new one all the time.

And it's not *hard* to change the oil, but unless you have a lift and one of those huge catch-pan thingies, it is tricky to do without spilling oil.

It does say in the official Helms manual, specifically, to warm up the engine before changing the oil.

A floor jack.
2 jackstands
One of those "huge" catch-pan thingies
I can't believe a part like this ever got invented. Changing the oil on a Honda was never hard.

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned - Fumoto Valve
It's a wonderful design. Available with or without nipples (for those that like nipples).

I bought a fumoto valve 5 years ago and it was defective. The valve on it was stuck in the open position so I returned it. The fumoto has a valve lever that can be hit by road debris and thus all your oil can leak out.
