Hey guys what up,
First off I want to say that I amazed that I have the ability to chip and tune my car myself. Im just getting into chipping computers and I always have been working on cars and doing motor swaps but I feel like im taking it to the next level.
Anyways I have already socketed my computer my self and what I wanted to do was put an ostrich emulater in the socket and tune the car on CROME pro. But all my friends are telling me to scrap the crome and go Neptune RTP because no matter what you do crome advances your timeing. Is this true? Crome seemed like the better rought because it cost like
150 for Crome Pro
175 for ostrich
30 for datalogging cable
and whatever it cost for wideband not sure
but the rtp setup I got to pay
400 for the unit
30 for cable
plus wide band
what do you guys think

You're saving $75.00 or so going Crome Pro. I would highly recommend saving another $75.00 or so and going Neptune RTP
eCtune Pro is on sale now for $150. Just plug that into your list in place of Crome.

Best thing to do would be to find out what your local dyno/tuner uses for software. Usually makes tuning a bit easier when you start with software that they can do the final dyno tune with.

Concerning crome, yes you are correct. Crome still has bugs which need to be worked on.
Concerning Neptune, there is no fee for a cable. RTP comes with everything you need for the $400.00
Concerning the differences in all the softwares. Simply lookup the feature differences & consider that Neptune, Ectune, Hondata all have proven code base which is not tested by the public.

neptune is a much better piece of hardwarer/software. btu what your friends saying is not entirely true.
crome does give you access to the *hidden* rpm advance table that they are talking about. you could zero it out, it doesnt matter either way. either you tune knowing that timing will be added, or you zero it out and add more timing to your maps.

well said. As of right now Im running Crome on the Ostrich 2.0. No issues as of now * knocks on wood* Simply zero out the timing advance and manually enter your timing values. make sure to save a good running map...just in case
