Default Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs

I took some time this weekend to install my Eibach springs. The drop should be about 1" all the way around. These wheels are 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 with 225/40 in the front and 245/40 in back. -1.5 F and -2.5 R for camber. I will get it re-aligned in a week after the springs settle a bit. So far so good. I like the drop and am looking forward to put them to the test after an alignment. I relocated the bumper screw about an inch back from where it is in the picture and dremeled along the inner bumper to clear space.

the wheels are too big for the car, or is the car too small for the wheels?

Some of the best wheels I've seen here are 17's. Performance-wise, 17's are better.

Care to enlighten me on the offset? I bought the wheels used for dirt and I wasn't too concerned at the time. Thanks.

wheels aren't supposed to stick out beyond the fender like they do on your car. the look is popular among nfl players that put 22s on their S500s but it has a negative impact on performance

I see. So you are saying performance if affected. I hadn't noticed.

s500 on 22's....I'd rock it.

I checked for the 35 series Azenis but they start at 265 width.
so I picked the 245/40-18 over the 265/35-18. Great tire by the way.

i would have went with a different tire on those rims... azenis are the **** though

i'm not sure of the laws there, and it's also hard to tell on the pics, but here it's illegal for your tire to be wider than your fender (stick out), even by the smallest amount.

Springs ride great, I am happy with the outcome. I'm getting an alignment tonight.

The tire goes inside the fender when compressed. There is law for trucks without mudflaps if that's what you're talking about.

gotcha - it was pretty hard to tell from the pics, but it looked like the tyre was sat outside of the body by a few mm.
They are some big-*** wheels for a lil old S though!!

I got my alignment done last night. Apparently, a 1" drop does all kinds of crap to your alignment so this seems to be a crucial step.

My buddies, who are both techs started arguing about whether I should be in the car during the alignment. One argued that the machine was made to balance without a driver, the other says that me sitting in the seat would create a personalized tune. What do you guys think?

wtf are you doing in the car during an alignment for a spring job? you cant dial in corner weight without a coilover so it's pointless.

thats what i tried telling some other guy on s2ki... hes like he sat in the car while he had it aligned... everyone started leg humping him and the place that did it, and i simply said, well thats not what honda does from the factory, and further, what happens if u have a passenger, ur specs would be all off anyways... they all just shut up and said nothing...

I don't know which way is right. It seems like you guys agree it's useless. I rarely have a passenger, nor do I push limits when I have one. So I'm not too concerned with how it'll handle in that situation. I have noticed that my suspension is noticeably more compressed when I sit in the seat. It seemed like more compression created more camber. I may be wrong. Anyhow, no adverse effects detected.
