I'm going to a two-day auto-x competition this weekend and just found out that you have to have 8" tall numbers and 4" tall class numbers. Since I'm leaving Friday morning, I'm in a big hurry. I made my own magnetic numbers before, but they are like 7" tall and I lost one side anyway. Anyone know of a good place where I can get new numbers very quickly? Or an easy way to make them? If I can't find anything I may just print out my numbers, laminate them, and tape them on... suuuuper ghetto.
I had a really good experience with this place http://www.izoomgraphics.com/ . I bought some magnetic numbers, they were shipped quick and stay on the car down the straights at Road America (high speed). I would recommend them.
i bought some contact paper at home depot, a big roll that would last a lifetime of making class letters and numbers. Just as long as your car isnt white your in good shape. the stuff is for lining cabinets. it works well stays on for a long time but its a PITA to get off the car after its been on for a long while.
heres our example of what you can do..
the 118 and H2 is contact paper

Thanks everyone. After visiting a few links, it looks like I won't get them in time. I've decided to make them myself. I've made them with the magnetic heat register sheets from the hardware store before, but they're a little too flimsy for my liking, which is why half of the stuff I made is now gone. Luckily I found a store called TAP Plastics which sells thicker magnetic sheets, $6/ft and each foot is 24" wide.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
Yeah, who needs to blow money on ASAP numbers when painter's tape is around? The Autozone near me even has multiple colors

but mainly its used to hold the car together, or at least mine.
and like stated below, duct tape is hard to get off. gorilla tape is even worse. Get some Goo-Gone and you dont have to worry either way

Back in 2002 I molded a complete seat out of duct tape to save money on two part foam. I wound up spending more on the duct tape
