I dont remember where it was online, but one guy has success by using a hand-held steamer. They are normally used for removing wrinkles from garmets. I guess they are about $20 in the average store.

Might be an option, I have not tried yet personally . I am going to remove my window tint soon and this was the method I was going to try.

Spraying the window with water, then take a black trash bag a place it on the window. Then park the car in direct sunlight for a couple of hours. Thats how the window tint guy did it on my car.

There is a tint removal thread on HT.

The gist of it is soak the outside with soapy water, put a black trashbag stuck to the water on the outside and park the car out in the sun, it'll heat up the goop and you can peel it right off

What is with everyone obsessed with using a trashbag to remove your tint. The one and only time you bag the window is when a rear window is purple or faded clear, and the bag goes on the inside. A heat gun on the outside of the window helps a little with the pealing of the film. The original question tho...the second layer comes off just like the first, take a razor blade to the edge and peel.

Uh, because it works and won't damage anything?

Oh and the fact it's practically free.

Do you mean peeling? If the windows are peeling but it doesn't look tinted than it is probably tint that has faded clear.

Wth? Just just windex and spray it on the windows and get a razo blade and peel it off from one corner and hope to get it all my pulling it out and if not just just the blade throught the whole window! Done it all kinds since my friends and I get window tint tickets alot for having double limo all around. Sometimes just fix it and get it signed off by a friend but this process is easy and i didnt notice any damage to the window
