Default Hella HID kit

Anyone heard anything about the HID kit that Hella puts out? It comes with the low and high beams.

I don't know about just the Hella producing it but they have HID Plus kits that have both low/high beams for 9003(H4). I saw it on www.xenonhid.com for 4800K/7000K/9000K models... but all other bulb application is for single-beam only.

Either way, Hella products just as good as the Philips, both made in Germany

As far as I heard, the 4800K HID Plus kits are whiter compared to the 4300K Philips. They don't have the slight yellowish tint like most 4300K kit does without having the bulbs tinted...I think it's great. Yes I've seen the kits itself. Very heavy duty & professional looking. If not the 6000K Philips Ultinon's are the way to go

*beats HID's again to death*

actually will you guys stop being philip ****** please? Yes, I will admit they are nice HID's. Ballasts are top notch. 4300k....well, its white with slight yellow if you compare them to philips 6000k application.

6000k is purple. (READ: *think* BARNEY). I dont know why people insist on these kits claiming they look like "real hids". They look purple! not a subtle purple..i mean purple! you can stare at these for hours and still think they are purple! 6000k OSRAM bulbs give off a much cleaner 6000k white with a slight hint of blue. blue not noticable nor like the freaking 25 dollar "HID bulb" crap. Silverstar conversions are not even comparable. Both bulbs are not tinted! (IM me if your interested how they do it)

for christ sakes get over the philips ultinon hard-on people! hehe...

btw, 4700k will look more white, and the white you will get will be slightly brighter than 4300k. max light output is somewhere around 4600k. It will look like those industrial HID lamps they use at night to light up road construction...

I'm with you Soup **** and I didn't mean to sound as though I'm an ultimate Philips' fan because I did have the Philips HID kit but was a bit disappointed for non-projector housing. That's another reason why I was looking at this 4800K kit. Yep I've seen the 6000K, it's purple. But I like the way the color changes for projector headlights with the beam pattern.

I noticed that a lot on this board how so many people think Philips is the only kit that's genuine...while Hella makes so many OEM HID's for various automobiles including Porsche!!!! I'm either gonna get 4800K Hella kit or 6000K...mai mai have you seen the 7000K? TALK ABOUT Microsoft Blue

Anyone have more info on the Hella HID kit (one that includes the low and high beam)? I want to know how it looks compared to the 4300k Phillips. If I go with Phillips I will go with the 4300k kit... but I am really interested in this Hella kit..being only $50 more and including a high beam as well..

The difference between the hella ballast and the phillips ballast was not noticible to me..i was staring at hid for most of this week *blind..* However I still have yet to see a 6000k install, or even a Osram 6000k (these are more like 5500k and are said to be *bluer*)

Oh well, 4300k puts the most light to the ground

-Rage <-- considering hella ballast and philips bulbs, also thinks trevors kit rox (phillips/phillips nice fit! no money for me...so ready to buy)

The Hella HID kit we have for 9003(H4) has the low/hi beam. The way it works is the mechanical shield that shifts up/down to adjust from low/hi beam. Here's the picture.

It's the small flap on top that adjusts itself. It's offered in 4800K, 7000K, 9000K and I prefer the bright whiter 4800K. It's whiter then the 4300K (some yellowish tint is visible with the 4300K's). Great kit

I'll also be doing a groupbuy for the 6000K Philips HID real soon

I am not considering the 6000k systems... i dont want a straight blue look. I was very happy with the 4300k Phillips kit when i saw it in person. It was white, but it had a flickering tint of purple to it.... very nice. However..... my really QUESTION here is, how the 4300k Phillips and Hella kits would look different. Rage, you mentioned you didn't think the ballasts looked any different... but i am wondering if the lights in particular look any different when on? Color, flickering, brightness, etc..?

It all depends 'what components' are used for the kits. Some companies claim "Philips" HID kit while the bulbs are just plain 'ol HID bulb from Taiwan. Both Philips & Hella ballasts are made in Germany and they are the OEM HID providers for various automobiles.

I personally own a Philips 4300K while my store offers the Hella 4800K with the bulbs made in the US by SPW. I'm thinking to switch since the 4800K definitely puts out whiter light without the yellowish tint...

I love the Audi HID lighting systems... anyone know which system they use in Audi? The lights flicker, and have a beautifull purple tint to them.

its the housing which gives that flickering color not the HID's.
