Default race header vs regular header

I currently have a dc header (not race) and was wondering how much better my gains would be and if it would be worth the money to upgrade to the dc race header and sell the regular one. I have a hondata kpro too. Thanks for the responses!

my buddy bought a comptech race header for his dc5 and he said the gains over stock were very noticeable. at the time he just had bolt-ons and a hondata reflash, it was before he even had the kpro. just be prepared for more noise and zero catalytic converter

Has anybody had issues with CEL with race headers?

With K-pro you can turn off the CEL.

Honestly, while a race header does make some difference over a shorty, if you need to have your car e-checked it just isn't worth it. Not to mention that running no cat on a daily driver isn't exactly the e-friendliest thing to do.

your dc shorty is pretty pointless. You definitely want to upgrade to a race header. Don't worry about the CEL since you already have K-pro.

hmm. You say my dc shorty is pointless. Does that mean you dont approve of a dc race header either? Or just short header in general? Im not looking to spend a fortune on one. Aka no buddy club for me. Thats why I was looking for a dc race header. They are Under $400 on ebay.

If you get the DC race header make sure you get a set of stiffer engine mounts. It is recommended and should not be over looked. About a month after i put my header on the bottom hanger broke off leaving me with a nasty hole. It was about a 5 minute fix and it hasn't happened again but i still hear it slapping up against the bottom of the car when i down shift and when I'm in reverse because of the flex pipe. But race header + EvoII exhaust = amazing sound!

yeah, my buddy put in some urethane mounts when he installed his Comptech race header. comptech race header + thermal r&d exhaust sounds pretty badass too.

Not to thread jack...but I believe the OP got his answer...I plan on having an exhaust made for my car...I was going to remove the cat and install a test pipe in its place with a bung for a defouler...and just keep the resonator near the Rr axle...<<<First question. I also was going to order just a shorty header to have the exhaust fitted to it. Is this a good idea or should I just order the Rh and forget about having them put a test pipe in...<<<<Second question...

Rolling with Meagan rch. I like em. It does job without the high price. I agree, recommend at least the mount inserts. made a big difference.
