Default b20/vtec rev limit

im building an all motor b20/vtec, what is the most i can set the rev limit 2?

eagle, h beam rods, rs machine 12:1 pistons, b16 eagle lightweight crank, type r dual springs, aluminum or titanium retainers, type r cams, supertech flat faced valves nitrate coated, block guard, dats it

If you use a B16 crank in your B20 motor then you are going to have issues. You need to use a B18-LS or B20 crank. Assuming that was a typo in your last response then....

The motor will probably stop making power shortly after 8500RPM with those typeR cams. Also the typeR valve springs should be okay to about 9K RPM with your cams. There is no reason to set the rev limit too much higher than the motor makes power. You can keep reving it but all you are doing at that point is abusing the motor for no reason.

My suggestion is to get yourself some nice cams and better valve springs if you want to make good power with that motor. Type TypeR cams are very good but they just don't make power compared to the wide variety of aftermarket cams available for cheap these days.
