popping/knocking noise while driving

popping/knocking noise while driving
the noise occurs only when in motion and as i go faster the knock/pop is faster
it deosnt do it when i turn so im kinda ruling out the cv joint
it sounds to me like something with the brakes so im gonna have to check it out tomorrow
anyone have anything similar before i take this apart and that not be it?

front/rear of car? left/right side? that will point to the general area of prob have a friend hang otu the window and try to listen for the sound.
