RPM gauge doesnt go past 6000 rpm
Okay been trying to figure this out for the past week. I've searched many times already and still none of the answers fix the cars problems.
So I have an 2001 Integra LS OBD2b. I dropped in a 97 JDM GSR OBD2a. I using the p72 obd2a ecu, obd2a jdm engine harness, obd2a engine. Only thing different is the chassis harness which is obd2b. Im using a jumper harness so that the obd2a ecu connects to the obd2b underdash harness.
So the problem is that when i drive the car with the gsr ecu the rpm gauge doesnt go past 6000 rpm. So i did the ckf bypass. It didn't work for the gsr ecu but worked for the ls and it redlines like at 7400. also i thought vtec wouldn't pop so we wired vtec and it popped once at 4800 or so and another at 5500 or so but as soon as i hit 6000 rpms the guage just flies everywhere but the mph guage is still going and vtec is still engaging its just the rpm guage thats giving me a problem can anyone tell me whats going on.

You should depress the gasoline pedal system to the maximum abilities for the appropriate number dial respect.

????What,? are you on something. The hell are you talking about. Obviously i shouldn't even be listening to you since your posted at nearly 4 in the morning.
Sounds electronic.
The ECU might have something wrong with it.
Try finding someone that has an ECU that will
work for your application.
This happened to me. I had a p72 and I did not know that it had internal damage. When I accelerated between 1000 and 5000 rpms the car hesitated a lot. I changed out the ECU and it ran fine.
Hope this helps!

Alright i figured it out. Just did a lot of research. Since the car is OBD2b and the engine, harness and ecu is obd2a it is giving two signals for the rpm gauge. OBD2b's get their signal from the ecu and obd2a's get their signal from the distributor. So i canceled out the signal from the ecu and ran a pin from where the distributor harness connects for the rpm guage.
