PLEASE HELP **Another Prelude wont start**
It is a 92 f22a prelude:
problem:
Driving to work and i noticed windows would not role up or sun roof open..thought no biggie fuse is blown. Get to work check fuse and it is not blown. That is how the problem started. I go to start my car and it will not do anything. If I put the key in and the door is open it makes the beep noise telling me to take the key out. If I rotate the key to the on position none of the lights come on. Usually SRS beeps at me and the clock turns on and I can hear the fuel pump. Well none of that came on.
What I have checked.
I checked all the fuses and they are not blown and all are correct amperage.
The battery is good.
The starter ground is good. But it does not even click.
Main relay is good. And plugged in.
It seems that what ever caused the windows to not roll up also short circuited my 'get started' function....I have my tool set with me so if I have to tear this car apart at work I can.

how do you know the battery is good? did you check the voltage? inspect the alternator ground and the alternator itself.
if none of the lights come on, its power related.

Nice car you got there. Thanks for the help.
The only thing I have to check voltage with is a pos / neg thing that has to metal ends with a light on one side, you place one end on a positve power side and touch the other to find the ground or if it is grounded. Any other way to test the battery that is none leathal.
I check the alternator and it looks fine, I smelled it to see if it had that fried by eletricicty smell and it didnt. I tried to find the alternator ground and I traced the wires to over the valve cover and under the intake manifold and lost sight after that. Is there another place to find the ground?

at the very least, use a voltmeter to check voltage on the battery, although you can have a battery that puts out 12.6 volts, but only 10 cranking amps. If you can get to a decent parts store, they can also test the battery and alternator for you.
