Quick D16z6 cylinder head question
Im taking the head off a d16z6 engine. Do i need to take the crank pulley off? or can i get to the cam belt another way and loosen it so i can slip it over the cam pulley? Thanks in advance
you dont have to take off the crank pulley to take off the head. Just loosen the timing belt tensioner. There will be this little black cap/grommet looking thing on the lower timing belt cover....pop it off with a flat head screwdriver and the bolt for the tensioner will be right there. I just did this a month ago when i changed my headgasket.
put white out marks on the timing belt and cam so when you go to put it back on it will line up just how it was before.

its right below the pointer thing to adjust the timing. look on the lower timing belt cover for a "v shaped" piece of plastic extending out.....the cap to access the timing belt tensior bolt is right under it.
