88-89 crx si weight, differences

Default 88-89 crx si weight, differences

i have an 89 crx si. I was just wondering if any one knows why the 88 crx si is lighter than the 89??? is it the side impact beam in the doors? Im just always looking for ways to save weight. wish I had an HF!

1988 CRX HF 1819lbs.
1988 CRX DX 1922lbs.
1988 CRX Si 2011lbs.

1989 CRX HF 1834lbs.
1989 CRX DX 2048lbs.
1989 CRX Si 2138lbs.

it is the in-door seat belt mechanism - the door mounted set-up on the 89 is heavier than the C-pillar mounted set-up on the 88

cause the 89's come with a Scarface amount of coke in each b-pillar.
