Default oops! damn!

Ok, so I was adjusting my valves. While adjusting valves on cylinder 2, the little nut from the feeling gauge came loose and fell into a small hole in the head. I checked a spare head and it looks like its an oil hole. where does this hole lead? all the way down to the oil pan? I heard that little nut take a trip down and I hear it clinging on its way down. Like a two second drop......... Damn it!!!!

From the Top: Fell through that hole that the light comes through from the bottom

yeah, that would suck!

I'm not sure but it could have gotten hung up at the windage tray if your motor has one. I would drop the oil pan and look in the pan first. If you don't find it I would shine a light down through that hole and start looking around.

Another thing you could try I guess would be to find a small magnet and tie a string to it and drop it into that hole and see if you can get luck and get it that way. Not sure if that would work though, but I guess you could try and see.

The title for this thread is funny when you read the post and look at the pics...
But i can imagine that this is no fun for you at all.... that sucks. I wonder if you had one of those magnetics oil pan plugs, maybe it could get stuck in there.

Well certain circumstances made me take a chance to use the car (job related). It was get fired or not take the car and possibly get fired. I took the car and I didnt have any problems. Today, I changed the oil hoping to see that little nut on my magnetic oil plug but it didnt latch on.

Maybe it made it to the oil pan but didnt get to the magnet yet.
