Question: reversing rotation on b series engine???
First off ill start with im not sure were to post this (so if mods need to move it feel free)
its giong to be a drag car/play toy
i know back in the day, some racers convertered engine to run opposite direction (i only think i remember h series pro racers way back when)
does anyone have any information on this, or know anyone who has done it
this is just a thought of something i might try for experiment in a rwd chassis i want to build
things i know u would need to do, get custom cam grind to support the change in rotation, and put tension on belt from other side, (only 2 things i can think of at this second)
Any info would be great, please try not to bash, just in the THOUGHT PROCESS faze
My biggest problem is, i want to run a b series in the vehicle, and run an auto trans (g force makes a manual reverse rotation, not sure of any others)
so 2 processes is either change rotation of motor or find a reverse rotation auto trans
Im up to both ideas ANY IDEAS WELCOME

you would have to look at things like water pump and oil pump. But i would think that they would both be externaly run systems in a project like this.
The head is going to be your biggest issue.
The head is going to be your biggest issue.
thougth bout that stuff too, external water pump, wonder if oil pump cares which was it spins??
in my thoughts as well, again thinking out loud, wondering if anyone new who did this way back when??

long time ago apex-i had a teg, with a h mounted the other way reverse rotation. ext oil and elec water pump should solve those issues. it was in turbo mag. and if i remember by looking it was twins:

A friend and I took a B18a and a d16a1 engine and turned the heads around. We figured it would be much better with carbs that the stacks face the front of the car, years before the K was introduced. But the "Ram Air" effect didnt really take effect until right around 100 mph. It was "Cool" but more work than it was worth.
anyone else
really want i would like to find is a reverse rotation auto trans, that will support over 600whp,
with that being said, so many things can change

I'm sure Xtrac would make you up one of there F1 trannys for a fee.
Sorry I just don't understand why you want to do this.

There were a bunch of Accords converted like that for the British Touring Car series.

Sold as a complete roller, minus drivetrain (engine, gearbox, axles, drivetrain support systems), shocks, and wiring harness. </TD></TR></TABLE>I've been thinking about this lately. this tranny, a k24 and a decent size turbo.
heven't looked into it though.
