Default 84MM Headgasket On 85MM Bore?

I have B20 block with 85mm pistons. Is it ok to run 84MM B20 head gasket. I dont want to wait for GE headgasket if I dont have to.

Has anyone run this setup?

you will burn the gasket up instantly, dont even try it.

Most likely the pistons will hit the gasket unless the pisyons sit way down in the deck.

I have the GE headgasket which I bought thinking it will work for my setup. Then I put it on the block and its P30 headgasket. I have B20 with P72 Head. I just looked at GE site and they only sell one gasket for all. I dont know how this gasekt would work for B20VTEC?

I'm lost

all of the GE gaskets are p30, some are just bored to the size you order. if its 84mm there will be a little white sticker with the number on it "84mm" and so on.

also, the dowl holes are punched out on both sides, these gaskets work on full vtec engines or ls/b20 vtec setups

Problem is that coolant passages are different on headgasket than my block. I dont want to run into any cooling issues. You already know our turbo cars run hotter.

Is there anyone who can make me B20 85mm headgasket?

lol dont even think about it.

you can port the 84mm to 85mm like ghetto, it should work. rather than using 84mm bore gasket

I have B20 block.

I just dont feel comfortable. One of the reasons why I dont run cometic headgaskets.

ran into some problems before with cometic gasket. My fried is having a problem right now, he just switched to GE gasket. There is a thread about cometic gasket also. I feel more comfortable with oem gasket.

I bought the block sleeved after my car got stolen. B20 gasket works perfect on the block.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2235725 there is a link why we use the gasket we do and we have used them on many turbo ls and b20 vtecs making well over 800hp with no heating problems the gasket blocks less then the b20 gasket does. the cometic gasket is no ware near as strong as the a oem honda gasket because the cometic gaskets use a galvanized center layer ware the honda is stainless steal oem is much stronger and better gasket by far.

im with dave 100% on the sleeve issue. i think what/who sleeves has everything to do with it unless its a tuning issue with headgasket failures.

i run a cometic, with no step deck, with no o-rings...........the only time ive had head gasket issues are when the fuel pump took a dump and i ran 15.5 AFR at 40 lbs of boost or when i had a different engine managment in the car that caused the car to violently missfire. in both cases the headgasket was the fuse. it was a very cheap and quick fix. if the head gasket wouldnt have let loose.....something else would have for sure.

other than that, every single head gasket issue i have seen has been due to shitty sleeves.

ive used golden eagle and oem head gaskets just as much and never had a problem with them either. i can get the cometics the very next day...its just convenient i guess. who knows

sleeves are drilled for B20 gasket coolant passages which I figured is different than vtec head anyway. I'm gonna run GE gasket and I dont think I will have any problems.
