does the mpfi swap increase mpg?

No increase for sure.

More HP = Less MPG normally.

I can't tell the difference in MPG drop though. Still averaging about 40.

it can. it is a more efficient way of delivering the fuel than a dpfi. if your tuning is aggressive or you drive it hard, FORGET IT. but, if you baby the car around you could see a slight increase. dont expect much. this is all assuming its being used on the stock motor/tranny.
