You possibly over-charged the system with refrigerant. Here's more troubleshooting tips:

ya if the gauge is pegen over then ya just overfilled it and its kicking ON and OFF and not geting to cold....

i actualy just tried charging my AC since it didnt feel to cool. turns out my system was only SLIGHTLY low and i put to much in and the compressor kept kicking in and out making the air not get cold..... i ended up having to bleed some of the stuff back out to keep the system from kicking in and out. basicaly just wasted 20bucks since it wasnt really needed. it sjust not gonna get to cold o well i guess
at least hondas kick he system out if its overfilled.... my truck would take it all day, tho it would leak right back out in 6months.LOL

even with 1lb of freon it still does the same thing, could it be the expansion valve stuck open or close??

It depends on the total amount of refrigerant in the system. How much was in the system prior to adding more?

Also take a close look at the troubleshooting diagram. It tells you additional tests to perform to pinpoint the problem.

Don't mean to threadjack, but its on the same topic.

Recently my high side line that goes from the condenser to the compressor gave out because it was rubbing on the fan shroud. It got replaced, and the A/C was charged by a shady mechanic. It worked semi-good for a day, and now the clutch kicks on for a few seconds and then turns off. My A/C is only cold at night and it works sometimes during the heat of the day, but only temporarily. My high side lines are hot and my low side is cold. CAn anybody help me?

system was recover/vacuum then recharge to spec. low side pressure is sky rocket.

Have you done the tests suggested in the chart to distinguish a bad expansion valve from a bad compressor?
