D15b7 mini me project
I have a very limited budget, and i am trying to get something fresh and reliable in my crx. My current motor has over 200,000 miles on it. I was able to pick up a complete d15b7(pm3) bottom end today for an extremely incredible price. I was going to mini me my si, but i have decided to throw the head on my new block. How well will the mini me work on this block? Its the d15b7 from the 92-95 civic dx's. The pistons are pm3's. Will my stock motor mounts go on this block and allow me to throw it into my engine bay? If there are any links for info on this, they will be greatly appreciated. I tried searching but i was pretty unsuccessful.
Thats cool, but what about the blocks? Isnt the stroke on the d15 a little bit shorter than the one on the d16? Also, the pistons are pm3's, will that chagne any variables like compression ratio? If i put the z6 head on, then wont it actually become a 1.6?
Its not gonna have as much torque as a 1.6 mini-me, but the z6 head will breath some life into it.
Keep in mind, that your gonna need an adjustable cam gear for sure. If not, your gonna have to settle for being either a half a tooth advanced or retarded on the cam timing.

I just bought an engine from a place by my house that imports Japanese motors and the motor I got is a SOHC VTEC from a 95 civic and the block is stamped D15b7. At first I thought I got ripped off but after doing some research I found that it is actually a JDM motor. So your z6 head should work great on the d15b7 block.
with the D15 block im pretty sure the CR will be a little higher than it would with an A6 block. Another thing to look into would be to use the Z6 intake manifold along with the Vtec head.
