Default At it again another turbo project done...T1 tuned little power

I've had built, I've had stock. Got married sold it all then did it again. This time just stock was fine. Just wanted to have a little fun. My goal was to see how cheap can I get quality parts and make an efficient set up. came out good. I spent exactly 4,818.94 for this set up. Which i think is good for what i got. including tuning exhaust, down to zip ties that my wife like to waste.

just wanted to have fun with this set up. nothing outrageous streetable and fun.

Thanks to the very few that helped,
my job for money...hahahahaha
The wifey ALLOWING me to spend the cash with no questions...lol
Brian at BR fittings
Stan Fast turbo
scd_mike
Eville140 for the mani and DP set up...(very good qualityand cheap)
and of course last but not least Tony for the last touch. T1 race development staff

oh yeah and myself

Stock B18c1
T3/t67
RC 750cc
walbro 255
s300& MAC B.C.
full race back door IC and piping 2.5in
custom manifold and DP
BR fittings catch can-custom
skunk2 Pro Intake Mani
AEM wide band and just a reg boost gauge
3in exhuast k teller and vibrant

I think that's all the important stuff.

i will get the awesome graph up once i scan it. the thing wants to keep making power.

333@12psi

just enough to drain back....thorn in my caboose

I had to do what i had to do. I don't own a welder and didn't want to pay for it

excuse my wife, she was tired from the dyno session and ready to get the car off while i snap pics...lol

thanks again H-T

I found it amusing that you trailered the car home in the first place.

Good stuff, could have def have done it for cheaper though. Not that I'm complaining about looking at a good solid setup or anything.

Ah I see, that is certainly completely understandable. I forgot you Texas guys have it slightly warmer than us up here in PA.

Could you have clocked the compressor housing and gotten away with two 45's or wasn't there enough room? I'm thinking chop one of those 90's in half and clamp a short pipe in between...

lol nope. it was a small small difference. If it lined up directly with the IC. It was off by 2-3in to the side and 2in down. almost like i would need a short fat "s" shaped coupling. this was the best i could do with what i had. and it worked. didn't effect flow.

just woundering, why use the t3/t67? you could have gone with a smaller one and saved money, not to mention a faster spool up.. i have the same turbo and it really kinda sucks around town, it doesnt hit full boost untill 6500 rpms. great for drag racing though
set up looks sick

i never said i spent 1200 and it's not a 1200 turbo it's a 975.00. You have no idea what i spent . I've done smaller t3/t4 set ups and the turbo stops breathing and power begins to dip in the higher RPM's. I think some people have different goals and want quicker spool time, what justifies that time.....full boost at 4000 vs 4500? or 3200 vs 4000. you can't even feel the difference in those RPM's unless your a professional and it makes your times off. It goes by to fast For a street car, it's perfect for me.

On the full boost question.
It depends on the gear.
1st gear is only 4psi
2nd it gradually climbs to 8
3rd it's 12. By that time it's full boost

Probably 5k-5500Not sure when it reaches. each set up is different and it depends on how well it breaths for full boost. My set up breaths pretty well for the power i wanted to make it's effiecient.this is the most fun out all of my set ups. that goes for the 400hp down to the 260hp set ups i've had.

the power can be used, it gets traction becuase of my B.C.
