Gas gauge/ sensor
Hey again all. The search button doesn't seem to return any results no matter what I type in. I'm guessing the archives are gone or something?
Anyways.... My gas gauge is gone all wonkey. It works most of the time, but sometimes it looks like I'm burning gas really badly(under normal driving conditions 1 bar every 6 miles), and then all of a sudden my car magically produces 3 or 4 bars of gas and works like normal again. Is there any way to eliminate things( ie: cluster, sensor, whatever else is in the system). Anybody know what type of gas sensor we have or how it works?. I'm pretty sure its not relevent but I usually get about 220- 250 Miles per tank(i'm assuming thats normal.
Or perhaps our gas sensing system is just a POS? Thanks for any help guys. And thanks to GRAF-FITI for any burns and or humorous, sarcastic remarks to the select few idiots that will more then likely jack this.
P.S. milage is 20,500

this is a problem i have heard of before...seems to be an issue w/ the digital ****, although honda has always had weird issues with their gas gauges i.e. 250 miles until half way then 75 miles from that point until "E"

Yes, 12 gallon... Maybe it's 11 1/2 but I always figured 12. I have never noticed a problem with my gauge in my MY02. I get between 220-300 miles to the tank. I always reset the trip when I refill as well. Usually I get about 260 miles before the gas light comes on.

13.2 gal gas tank...this figure was taken off of the honda website. when the gas light comes on with 0 bars....i put in about 10.5 gal. so assuming my fuel level sensor is working properly (05 with only 7800 miles) we have a 1.7 gal. reserve.
i average about 22mpg. when the light comes on, i have about 37.4miles to get to the next gas station.
