Default Not my first time painting a car, but its been a few years.. lol

so my plan is to repaint my car either the stock color, or something fairly similar. i'm not aiming for perfect, but i want something more then a $50 paint job... i just want something that looks better then it does now. Which includes peeling clearcoat, light spots. one panel lighter or darker then the others (its been in an accident before i owned it).

So first off i want to clarify that the color i have is Rio Red. i think this is right but i'm not sure. i know my picture quality is pretty crappy but maybe someone can verify if that is indeed rio red...

So.. on with the other questions

-Where is the best place to order paint from?
-What are my options as far as ways to paint (single stage, base-clear, etc)?
==I'm not looking for most expensive route, but i dont want to go the cheapest either.

-And If i chose not to go with the rio red, is there another color red thats not too much different than rio red, but perhaps looks a little better? the rio red always seemed kinda bland to me.
-And lastly is there some kind of painting for dummies faq i could read so that i could learn the basics of painting, flash times, things to do and not to do while spraying a car, etc. last time i painted a car it was my 72 monte carlo, and that was going on 5 years ago now. If anyone could point me in the right direction for some of these questions i'd greatly appreciate it.

-also i should note. i already have hvlp guns and a big compressor. so thats a start lol. i just hope the guns are still good.. they havent been used in some time

hey i want to start off by wishing you the best of luck painting your car... as far as your questions go when i order paint to paint cars i order from robins auto parts i dont know if u have that auto company around you but they sell ppg that's why i order from them... as for what rout you should go between single stage and clear coat base coat i always go for 2 stage but that my preference because i like how i cant wet sand and buff for a perfect finish..... but to add tot hat i painted a mustang black i did a single stage paint job with 3 coats of clear coat over it... i could make it perfect and it made for a very very deep looking color..... i dont know if any of this will help at all but post pics of your progress... im looking forward to seeing this because i really like the look of your car

I'm from OH too. Yoy know that Sherwin williams is base out of Strongsville and they got stores all over. We used SW @ school but I'm sprying with PPG. Don't use Omni if you are changing color because it doesnt cover well. Crapanese told me Omni Plus is great cause he used it to paint his 240. Its relatively cheap. Two stage all the way. Run some thinner through your gun to see if it atomize but if you cleaned em last time, you should be fine. I love to spray with dupont but is too freaking expensive.
