so after i had picked up my replica enkei meshies i felt my car needed a lil more contrast up front..i had replicas so hey..why not make replica j's racing lip? well i took my old OEM lip from my 88 99 bumper and tried to see if it would line up or even fit sunggly on my 90-91 bumper..although my old old bumper from way back was trashed due to a canyon mishap (understeer) i thought of taking the lip since it wasnt damaged at all. I know how hard it is to find a lip decent enough and safe to pull off without looking off or just plain stupid. so i first cleaned up the lip sanded it down alil and smoothened it out..i then started the measuring. USING just drywall screws and maybe 10 or 12 zip ties the lip sat somewhat flush on my bumper! although it was a gruelling process that involved alot of drilling..zipping and re aligning.plus the help of the ever so impatient girl friend i came out with a rare but simple lip..
remember its a 88-89 lip re-fitted on a 90 91 bumper..dont really know whether its been done before but if so it should look like this..(painted the lip red for now to replicate the j's racing style lip and also to accent the red trim..ALWAYS WANTED ONE THOUGH!)
